As I look back on 2016 I can say that the year has been rough for me. I’ve gone through many highs and many lows but in light of the new year upon us I’ve decided to get focused and start doing more for my community. Welcome to the first of a new Blog Series called: Convention Spotlight. In this series I will discuss the next convention I will be going to and tell you why you should also come to the show! First up is one of my favorite conventions from last year and I’m so happy to be going again! Vision-con 2017 is gonna be fun! And here’s why!

Missouri’s Premier Comic-Con is going on it’s 26th consecutive year and it’ll be my second time at this event. Last year had amazing guests like Katy Townsend, Scott McNeil, and Sam Witwer, just to name a few. It was my first time in Branson and to be completely honest I was worried about covering this convention last year. I don’t typically have a lot of fun at “Comic-Cons” as they tend to be more focused on making money, than on customer satisfaction which is what should be a conventions number one focus. But Vision was different and was a fun experience from beginning to end. Here’s what you can expect to experience at Vision-con 2017!
Let’s Talk Staff First. I loved working with the con staff last year and this year I’m excited to work with them all again! To this day Vision con has been the only convention that had a scheduled time for the press to get one on one time with guest to interview view them in a quieter environment. Every Member of the staff and volunteer is nice and genuinely cares about the work they do for the convention. They have been among the easiest to work with and one of the most hassle free cons to ask things of.

I bet you’d like to know what guests are scheduled to appear. Well Allow me to inform you! Do you like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, James Bond, or Harry Potter? Famous sculptor Brian Muir is one of Visions’ Guest of honor. Muir has worked for over 75 major motion pictures, but he’s most famously he’s credited as the creator of Darth Vader. Are you a gamer? Did you Enjoy the Halo Franchise? Steve Downes, Voice of John-117 better known as Master Chief is going to be at the convention. The man inside the famous Spartan power armor is my most anticipated guest of the convention, and I can’t wait to get to meet him!
How about the Flash on the CW? Shows’ pretty great huh? Grant Gustin won’t be in attendance, but the Original Fastest Man Alive John Wesley Shipp will be! Expect to see him zipping around the con floor, but don’t blink! Or he might be out gone in a ‘Flash’. Ever wanted to learn how they make things look so cool in Hollywood? Here’s your chance to learn a bit as Special Effects Artist RJ Haddy, and Face-Off Competitor and two time champ Laura Tyler will be there to drop some knowledge in the world of SFX. Cosplayer Kelldar will be in attendance to help judge the cosplay contest but always remember that it’s not about winning or losing. If you’re having fun in your cosplay, that’s what truly matters. Local Authors, Samantha McMillan and J. Christopher Wilson are also being highlighted at this event.

But most importantly no con is complete without you. So with everything I’ve told you I hope you’ll consider coming to vision con! I’ll put links to the convention’s Website if you’ll click HERE! Thanks for reading my Blog and I hope to hear from you soon!
ar from you soon!
