WWE Predictions: Chris Jericho Wins the Royal Rumble Match

Chris Jericho has always been one of the G.O.A.T.'s. (Or Greatest of all Time) He's been a top-notch wrestler over the last 20+ years of his career, and his current work may be the greatest thing in wrestling today, although, that may be up for debate. He's a 6-time World Heavyweight Champion, a record setting 9-time Intercontinental champion. and 2-time Tag Champion. Basically if there's gold to be had Chris Jericho has had it. (Unless that title is the United States Championship) But among all of his success there's been one accolade that's alluded him; Winning The Royal Rumble. It's been long over do and with requirement looming for the The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, I feel that now is the time to give Jericho the One Last Run that he deserves with a win at the rumble.

So to start this prediction off; his current gimmick as the comedic partner of the Universal Champion Kevin Owens, acting like the wrestling equivalent of Bulk and Skull from the power rangers, may be the best thing the WWE has to offer right now. It’s funny, Kevin and Chris have a great chemistry together, and we know eventually, Chris Jericho will break the walls down and cross him eventually. We know there will be a rivalry between the two in the near future, and it will be a candidate for feud of the year for sure. I believe the Rumble will be the perfect time to start that feud. If you let the joke go on for too long we’ll get tired of the same old and the cross won’t be near as impactful.

As of right now, the WWE has not booked the Royal Rumble as I would have so far, but they haven’t made motions to outright ruin my dreams so I’m remaining hopeful that I’m right. I feel like I have to be. Jericho is so seasoned that he’s quite like the undertaker, in the fact that a good feud, even for a for months can catapult you to instant success even if you lose. He’s done it with Aj Styles, Dean Ambrose, and more recently is doing it with Seth Freakin’ Rollins. He is the best in the world at what he does, and what he does is putting people over. Jericho is booked to be inside a shark cage 15 feet above the ring during his best friend Kevin Owens’ Title Match against Roman Reigns. (Boo This Man) they are playing it off like Chris is deathly afraid of heights, and that could actually work to the advantage of my prediction. Giving Chris a breather between the title match and the royal rumble main event which he will undoubtedly be a part of as well.

You begin the night with Jeri-KO talking about the game plan, and Chris is starting to crack. He’s beginning to full on panic as the night draws closer and closer to that dreadful moment when he will be hoisted up above the ring and his Acne-aracro-acrophobia kicks in, and we all know how rare his condition is. Up to the point of the match Jericho is getting more and more jittery, he’s shaking, and he’s showing true fear for the moment they lift him up. It’s a great comedic segment and it will remain a focus throughout the match. The match will end in one of two ways; either K.O. will beat Roman Clean, Or more likely, he wins with the help of Triple H. We haven’t seen Hunter in some months and I think the Rumble would be a good time for him to make a return.

This whole time Kevin has relied on someone to help him keep his title and that’s going to be a theme in this prediction. When he thought he was truly alone in this match is when Hunter will help him win. Jericho comes down and clings onto his best friend. Happy to be back on solid ground Jericho is in tears as two best friends Celebrate their victory in the middle of the Ring with the Ring Leader, and C.O.O. of the company. Triple H. Onto the Royal Rumble Match.

I originally wanted John Cena to come out Number one, but seeing as he’s going to be fighting styles for the smackdown heavyweight title, I don’t see that happening. But the match needs to start with someone with a big pop, but isn’t going to win. So for the sake of this we’ll use Dolph Ziggler, He has the charisma to get the crowd excited for the chaos that is the Royal Rumble Match. Guessing the surprise entrants in the royal rumble is like finding the hay in the flaming needle stack. Could you imagine if Number 2 was The Demon King, Finn Balor. The Pop, the reaction the crowd would come alive from the very beginning. Like I said, someone who can draw a huge pop but isn’t going to win. We haven’t seen Finn Balor since Summerslam, and the product has been suffering hard without him. But I don’t think he’s fit to compete long enough to win the rumble. So give him one of the first two spots to get the full pop only he can get.

Taking a wild Crack at a few of the surprise entrants for this years show. Kurt Angle is set to return in April, but I think it’s a set-up and he’ll make an appearance at the Rumble. As mentioned earlier Finn Balor will return for the match, but will be treated with care and probably thrown out early due to his injury not being fully healed. And just to throw a few names out for sake of being somewhat wrong about this PPV, Jay Lethal would be cool, or the Broken Hardy boyz. Finally I want to see Shinsuke Nakamura come up from NxT, and maybe Bobby Roode if the WWE got my Christmas Letter.

Now to the good part, and the reason I’m so firm that Jericho will win the Rumble, and win it alone. This entire time Chris Jericho has been there for his best friend Kevin Owens over the last few months, helping K.O. Keep the belt with Distractions, sneak attacks, and even giving his best friend a Code Breaker to give him a win Via Disqualification. This will be the first time that Kevin won’t have his best friend to help him retain his title, but not to fear that’s why The Game will be there just in the nick of time to make sure Roman doesn’t walk out with the Jam Belt. As I said earlier; when Jericho gets released from the cage he’ll hug onto both K.O. and HHH.

So with all that Jericho’s music will hit early in the Royal Rumble. They will cut to the back where he is gasping into an O2 Mask saying he can’t compete. “I Can’t Compete, they just put me 500 Ft. into the air!” he’ll say. And they’ll move on like nothing ever happened. But somewhere towards the end, say roughly 25-26th spot, right after Goldberg and Bork Laser eliminate each other, Jericho will come charging to the ring ready to compete. And the fresh Jericho will reel throwing out people left and right until it’s him and the last man in the ring; someone like Randy Orton, or Sammy Zayne. Jericho gets thrown over but lands on the apron. Clinging to the rope for dear life when he manages to pull his final opponent to the edge of elimination. They fight, exchanging blows back and forth for a minute or so with both men looking like they could fall at any moment when out of No where, a Code Breaker on the apron eliminates the last man standing in Jerichos way to the main event of Wrestlemania for the first time since 2002.

Chris Jericho wins the royal rumble and outcomes Kevin Owens and Triple H. Everything feels right in the world until… Code Breaker to Owens. The champion falls looking up at his next opponent in a daze Triple H Holds Jericho’s hand high as he picks up Owens Belt raising it to signify he’s coming to be the next champion. The Next night on Raw K.O. tries to get answers out of Jericho, and Triple H. To which they show up at the ramp and simply lay it out for the champion.

“You Stupid Idoit Owens, this whole time we were testing you. Trying to make you a great champion. But you can’t win the big one without one of us holding your hand the entire time. Triple H had been watching, he came to me, you know what he told me? He told me what I already know. He said Chris, you’re better than Owens will ever be, and you know what K.O… He’s Right. I’m the Greatest of all time, the best in the world, at what I do. And at Wrestlemania, I’ll become a seven time Heavyweight Champion.”

Let that sink in, the downfall of two best friends, what we knew was already coming in the best way possible. We get to see the Jericho like he was in his feud with Shawn Michaels, and a Kevin Owens that is broken, turned face because he lost everything. Teaming With Roman, and Seth Rollins to take down Triple H, and Chris Jericho. Drink it in Man!

Do you think I’m wrong? Who do you think will win the Royal Rumble? Thanks for reading my Blog and I hope to hear from you soon.
